- For the character from One Piece: World Seeker, see Gordon (Jail Island).
Gordon is the former king of the Elegia Kingdom and the foster parent of Uta.[1][2] He is a major ally in One Piece Film: Red.
Appearance
Gordon is a tall man with broad shoulders and thin limbs. He has a double chin, and his head is slightly elongated with a scar running across his forehead. The skin on the left side of the scar is of a different color. His head is bald on top, but long gray hair grows on the sides, and he has sideburns. He wears sunglasses and what appear to be headphones. His attire consists of a dull green double-breasted coat with buttons, a frilled white dress shirt and cravat, slim gray pants and leather shoes. He also has a rosary bead with a purple tassel at the hem of his coat.
12 years ago, he lacked the scar on his forehead, had blond hair, and wore a white outfit with a light green cravat.[2]

Personality
Gordon is a kind-hearted individual, as he had raised Uta when she was a child as a caretaker, despite the circumstances of the destruction of his kingdom, accepting that it was ultimately an accident.[2]
When he had learned about Uta's plan to bring about a "New Genesis" for the World he had tried to reason with her to stop as he knew while she had good intentions but did not agree with her methods on this, also he was cautious about approaching her about this and was desperate to stop her from achieving her plans. He had also deeply regreted not being able to tell Uta the truth about the past Incident of Elegia and lying to her, and had felt he was a coward for doing so and desperately tries to make up for it by making sure she was safe.
He enjoys music and teaching music (which was why he didn't throw away the song "Tot Musica" when he found it), something that he continued doing despite the destruction of his kingdom. After New Genesis failed, he is seen teaching a new generation of musicians which shows he has found happiness again.[1]
Abilities and Powers
As a former king, Gordon used to have authority over the citizens of Elegia.[2] He is very knowledgeable in music, as seen in him conducting orchestras in Elegia before the destruction. He also has the teaching skills to help Uta fully develop her singing abilities.
Relationships
Uta
Uta was raised by Gordon since the age of 9, while also teaching her to develop her singing abilities.[2] Gordon had done his best to watch over Uta as a caretaker over the years and make her feel happy whilst living alone on Elegia and to make sure that she would become a great singer. He continues to deeply care for Uta after he opposed her plans for New Genesis and had begged her to stop, going as far to sacrifice his own body to save Luffy and convince Uta to stop her plans, and he deeply felt guilty over withholding the truth about the past from Uta as he felt he was a coward for doing so, as he only wanted to protect her and keep her safe.
Shanks
Shanks entrusted Gordon with Uta after he decided to take the blame for Elegia's destruction, indicating the two were on good terms, and Gordon hoped that Shanks would come to stop Uta's plans for the New Genesis.[1]
Luffy
Gordon had trusted Luffy as he led him and his allies to safety when Uta was hunting for them, but was annoyed that Luffy was playing around when Gordon was trying to explain Uta's past here on Elegia, and also he had trusted that Luffy would be able to stop Uta's plans and make her come to her senses and reason with her, he even stood in the way and took a spear blow for luffy when Uta tried to attack him.
History
Past
12 years ago, Gordon was the king of Elegia, when Red Hair Pirates arrived on Elegia on a Voyage with Uta he was amazed by Uta's sublime singing and had asked her to stay with them on Elegia as it was the Music capital of the world, though afterwards as the people heard that Uta was going to leave tomorrow they had decided to arrange a party to have her singing voice reach out to the Isles to convince her to stay, but that had inadvertently awakened the Music sheet of Tot Musica within the castle ruins of Elegia, and when the cursed song whisked it's way to Uta she had inadvertently sung it which caused Tot Musica to be released and go on a destructive rampage in which it had destroyed Elegia, Gordon had survived but had gotten an injury on his forehead which was tended to by Hongo, but still even after Elegia's destruction he had contemplated on what to do as Navy were arriving and while he had intended to take the blame for this, Shanks instead told Gordon that he and his crew would take the blame for this so that Uta could have a chance to become a professional singer under the guidance of Gordon, so he promised that he would take care of Uta and raise her to become a proper singer for Shanks but refrain from telling her the truth about the Incident to spare her from any burden.[2] After Uta woke up he had told her that Shanks had ransack Elegia for its riches and left everyone for dead and while Uta was shocked by this he tried to hold her back while she desperately ran to the Red Haired Pirates ship as it was sailing away.
Afterwards Gordon had raised Uta on the lone Isles of Elegia where she was trained to sing and had tried his best to make her happy but didn't know of a way to make her singing reach anyone until she had found a special Transponder snail two years ago that allowed her to stream her songs to the World, which brought Joy to Uta and had pleased Gordon as well.
The song used to summon Tot Musica somehow came to be under Gordon's possession and was not thrown away due to Gordon's love of music. At some point, he found out about Uta's plans for capturing her fans forever in the Uta World by doing a Live Concert.
Wano Country Saga
One Piece Film: Red
Gordon first watched Uta's concert from afar as Uta had already begun her plans for New Genesis. He saw Luffy, Law, Bepo, and Bartolomeo fleeing from Uta's soldiers and brought them inside some ruins. He explained the situation to them, desperately asking them to help him stop her plans. Soon after, Uta unfortunately managed to locate the group. Law, Bartolomeo, and Luffy managed to escape, while only a miniature Bepo and Gordon remained.
Gordon refused to support Uta in her plans, and that the World Government would likely get involved if she were to go through with it. However, Uta revealed that she had acquired Tot Musica's music sheets, shocking Gordon. Before he could do anything else, Uta placed him onto a musical staff, leaving him trapped. Fortunately, Bepo remained close by, and managed to free Gordon by singing the corresponding note that Gordon was posed in.
After placing Gordon into a wheelchair, Bepo brought him to Luffy's group, who had meanwhile discovered a way to escape from Uta's fantasy world, but was unsure of its feasibility; Uta would have to summon the Demon King Tot Musica, and he would have to be defeated simultaneously in both the fantasy world and reality. As the Navy was out of the question since civilians were involved, Gordon intervened and said Shanks could be the one to do it.
Gordon takes Uta's attack for Luffy.
When Luffy later faced Uta, Gordon jumped in front of him and took the attack, getting impaled through the chest. He attempted to convince Uta to stop by informing her of the true events of twelve years ago. Shanks had really been innocent, and Gordon himself was to blame, as he could not bring himself to destroy Tot Musica's music sheets. Unfortunately, she did not listen, and proceeded to summon Tot Musica anyway.
After Shanks and Luffy destroyed Tot Musica, Gordon remained stuck in the Uta World, but was freed shortly after Uta realized her mistakes. Soon after, he opened a new music school and started to teach a new generation of musicians.[1]
